Hello 2009. Hello fellow Wise Hearts. And Hello Mr. Kornfield. A pleasure to swim with you in the ocean of blogging here on, as Lez calls it, Day One. This year, I'm drawing my deeper intentions from the slave writings: "When I work, I works hard, when I play, I plays hard, and when I thinks, I go to sleep." (Unknown African-American woman.) She might have added: "And when I laugh, I laughs hard." We hear 2009 is the year of "change." You know, "Change we can believe in," etc. Everyone says: "Everything is changing!" Perhaps changing is remembering who we are. Radiant. Vast. Outside of Thinking Mind. It'll be fun to not to think so much, no? To be Thoughtless with a big T not a little T. I'm gonna speak to Ms. Thinking Mind, thank her for her ceaseless, frenetic production of ideas, but tell her we're ratcheting back this year. More direct, sensual experience, thank you. At any rate, I acknowledge our dear Mary Ann for pulling the threads together here because this is going to be a wonderful ride. Here, a snap of my No-Mind rocking chair at the North Carolina cabin.
